Tucows prohibits the use of our services in any manner associated with the transmission, distribution or delivery of any Unsolicited Bulk Email (UBE) or Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE) (aka "Spam"). We monitor all traffic to and from our services for indications of Spam activity and maintain a dedicated abuse department to register allegations of Spam abuse who take corrective measures as needed. Tucows fully investigates all registered complaints and if Tucows determines there is a problem with spam, Tucows will take the appropriate actions to resolve the situation. Our dedicated abuse department can be reached by email at abuse@tucows.com.
Tucows does not authorize the harvesting, mining or collection of E-mail addresses or other information from, or through our services. Tucows does not permit or authorize any attempt to use our services in a manner that could damage, disable, overburden or impair any aspect of any of the services, or that could interfere with any other party's use of any service.
In order to use our products and services, you must not only abide by all applicable laws and regulations, which include the Can-Spam Act of 2003 and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, but you must also abide by this Email Abuse Policy. Commercial advertising and/or bulk emails may only be sent to recipients who have already "opted-in" to receive messages from the sender specifically. They must include a legitimate return address and reply-to address, the sender's physical address, and an opt-out method in the footer of the email. Tucows must be notified in advance before any mass mailings are conducted via our servers. Upon request by Tucows, conclusive proof of opt-in may be required for an email address. Information on Tucows Email Abuse policies can be found at our website: http://services.tucows.com/ and http://about.tucows.com/.
If Tucows determines that unauthorized or improper use is being made of our services in association with spam or abuse, Tucows will take discretionary action as appropriate to block, suspend, or cancel any domain registration, email accounts or other services indefinitely. The registrant, reseller or partner is required to respond by email to Tucows stating that they will cease to send spam and/or have spam sent on their behalf or demonstrate corrective actions taken to cease these activities on behalf of their clients.
Tucows will require a non-refundable reactivation fee to be paid before the domain, email boxes and/or other services are reactivated. In the event that Tucows determines the abuse has not stopped after services have been restored, Tucows may terminate the hosting and email boxes associated with domain name in question.
To Report Spam Abuse: We encourage all customers and recipients of email generated from our products and services to report suspected spam. Suspected abuse can be reported by email or through our Spam Abuse department at abuse@tucows.com.
To demostrate our commitment, we have joined forces with the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group (MAAWG). The Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group is a global organization focusing on protecting electronic messaging from online exploits and abuse with the goal of enhancing user trust and confidence, while ensuring the deliverability of legitimate messages. With a broad base of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and network operators representing over 600 million mailboxes, key technology providers and senders, MAAWG works to address messaging abuse by focusing on technology, industry collaboration and public policy initiatives.
